Galbraith Lake Campground
North Slope Borough, Alaska
Overview
This undeveloped campground includes roughly 12 campsites, bearproof garbage cans, and one vault toilet. Flowing water is available at a nearby creek, but must be filtered or treated before consumption. Although the campground sits about a mile away from the lake itself – a remnant of a large glacial lake that once occupied the entire Atigun Valley – it affords spectacular views of the lake and Brooks Range, with Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve to the west and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to the east. The campground is open approximately May-September.
