Overview Leavitt Meadows campground is nestled amidst Jeffrey Pines alongside the West Walker River. Nearby Leavitt Meadows Trailhead is the starting point for a horse or foot trail along the West Walker River into an area of lake-filled basins. Many climbers use this trail to approach Tower Peak, which offers both technical climbs and scrambles. Recreation Leavitt Meadows campground is popular for fishing, hiking, and backpacking. Facilities The Leavitt Meadows campground has small RV (less than 24 feet in length) and tent friendly sites. All sites offer picnic tables, campfire rings, and food storage lockers. The campground has vault toilets, drinking water, and garbage service. Firewood is available for purchase from the host. Natural Features Leavitt Meadows is at an elevation of 7200 feet.
