Tower Creek Pyramids Day Use Area
Lemhi County, Idaho
Overview
This site was homesteaded some years after the Lewis & Clark Expedition visited in 1805 and was donated back to the BLM in 2002. A picnic/day-use area in the homestead's old apple orchard lies within view of the geologic formations that William Clark phonetically noted in his journal as "pirimids." The BLM manages the 3-acre site to preserve the unique historic and geologic characteristics and maintain an undeveloped feel.
