The Eagle Mountain House, built in 1879 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 1997 was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. In 1931, the surrounding pasture land became the hotel's golf course, which in winter becomes part of the extensive 96-mile Jackson cross-country ski trail network.
