Northeast Fishery Center And Lamar National Fish Hatchery

Clinton County, Pennsylvania

Overview

The Northeast Fishery Center (Center) plays a leading role in guiding the science and technology that is foundational to species and habitat conservation in the United States. The Center conducts research on fish culture techniques and managing the genetics of fish populations. The Lamar Fish Health Center (FHC) provides critical diagnostic and fish disease screening services to State, Tribal and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service fish hatcheries. We also develop disease prevention and containment guidelines for use throughout the Northeast Region. Additionally, we monitor the health of wild fish populations.
