The Green Park Inn, built in 1891 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 2012 was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Opened in 1891, the beautiful Green Park Inn boasts a blend of turn-of-the-century style and genteel hospitality. Three local businessmen, among them a Civil War veteran, built this Grand Dame on verdant acreage known then as Green Park. Added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 3, 1982, the hotel welcomes guests via scenic roads that wind through North Carolina's High Country. This historic hotel has served as a sanctuary for esteemed guests, including John D. Rockefeller, Herbert Hoover, Annie Oakley, Calvin Coolidge, and Eleanor Roosevelt. In May 2010, the hotel was purchased by two brothers whose thoughtful restoration of the property ensures that guests experience the charm of a country manor hotel.
